Stopping police violence to #occupywallst #OWS
The Occupy movement has certainly grown over the past few weeks, and now it's time for the movement to exert its real power.
Until now, the OWS movement has its existence through various pockets throughout the country but, without a true show of force. Therefore, the media has shown their respective interests in the same manner. So what is needed now, to show that change is not only wanted but demamded, is a true showing of assembly - mass organization. No violence, however, real organization. This definitive organization alone will make the statement that "we can if we wanted to..."
With over 20-million unemployed workers in the U.S. and even more around the world following suit, a fully organized "showout" throughout the country on every City Hall and or State Capitol steps all at the same time, the message would become clearer. That message is: "We mean business." Keep in mind however, there does need to be an additional and actionable message... I would suggest it be something concrete and meaningful for starters, knowing there is much more to come.
If the movement continues at its visible but sporadic pace, there will continue to be unwarranted police violence. But we should all keep in mind, this movement has support for the police, and the teachers, etc... Unless and I doubt, they're in the 1%. However the police, with most truly sympathetic to the issues (although some are just pricks), have a job to do and they are being instructed by their superiors who are in turn instructed by theirs, and this of course goes all the way up the ladder to - you got it, the 1% who are against the movement against them.
For the change which the "occupy" movement seeks to be successful, you must show that you have the upper hand through sheer numbers and the mobility and organization of those numbers. The tea-party had such abilities albeit they also had a treasure trove of money supporting them, ie; The Koch brother's and others. But the tea-party was really a small group of people that were simply able (thru money) to get the media to pay real attention to their antics. The Occupy Movement may not have money but, it has people (20-million plus) and if organized and mobilized accordingly, their Will will be done. And the police would have no choice but to comply.
I ask this question because, to me this is the status quo and it survives in part by the politically correct cultural establishment of the day. I'm sure I don't have the right answer but, I am hoping that through your inputs I'll be a bit closer to understanding this phenomenon.
The cheating I'm talking about goes on in your everyday offices across the country, and it most certainly exists in today's politics. In the business place it's called backstabbing, ass-kissing, throwing someone under the bus, etc... As for politics, how about taking lobbying money to vote for or against an obvious better interest to the whole. For example, renewable/clean energy, immigration, finances, healthcare, increasing/decreasing of taxes, stimulus funds (I vote no, but I'll take a cut...), etc...
So can somebody please tell me how and why it is this way. And all the while, the folks who do not participate in any of the above, get screwed in the process. Are there ever any repercussions or, is this just the way it is and those that don't participate, better get with the program.
WASHINGTON — Oil services contractor Halliburton Inc. says it safely finished a cementing operation 20 hours before a Gulf of Mexico rig went up in flames. In testimony prepared for a congressional hearing Tuesday, Halliburton says it completed work on the well according to accepted industry practice and federal regulators.
Why is it that whenever a major preventable disaster occurs, there seems to always arise a plausible conspiracy theory.
The true purpose of my posts are to change the Status Quo and alter the culture of always being politically correct. Being politically correct means you don't mention the idea of a conspiracy theory, and the Status Quo is basically the people who say you can't mention it. Humm, seems that they go hand in hand.
Without my having a shred of proof, I am a firm believer that in today's day and age the powers in charge will do almost anything to retain that power. I would as most, hate to think that anyone other than the terrorists abroad were responsible for 9-11. However, there are some who believe otherwise. Additionally, can you really tell me that we the U.S. do not have the means to capture Bin Laden. Heck, we can capture everyone one else for the most mundane of things but yet, we can't capture the worst of the worst. I don't get it. I'm certain though it has something to do with politics and us somehow being, politically correct. There are just way too many theories for me to not believe in some of them. Take Katrina for a moment and the "lack of an adequate response". Did all those people really have to suffer in the way they did before "real help" came. For what reason would one have for not responding, that I will leave up to you the reader to resolve. The list of conspiracy theories goes on from to Martin Luther King, JFK, and I'm sure many more that are eluding me right now. And now we have Halliburton, the major culprit in most of the Iraq War talk, and also run by the biggest advocate of the war, and biggest dissenter for changing the Status Quo - Darth Vader himself, Dick Cheney.
When does it or will it ever stop. Can we ever have our Utopia. Will the Status Quo continue to fight, and for how long will the battle go on. The biggest battle pending, although it is not getting all the headlines just yet is a Renewable, Clean, Green Energy Bill. This is the biggest change yet to come, and it will change the Status Quo forever from a corporate level. Yes it is true that most of the current oil companies will have their hands in the pie too but also, new and innovative companies will join the fray. These new companies will have the ability to challenge the current status in business, thus changing the dynamics of it all together. The only problem is that until we have a Bill the Status Quo has all the money and power to thwart attempts at its success. And unfortunately, too many people are taking a complacent approach towards the necessary change. The same way the folks put President Obama into office is the same way we need to push for a renewable clean energy bill, now. If however, a passive and laid back approach is taken, I can assure you the Status Quo will snatch victory right out from us.
When reviewing all of the daily news articles related to the renewable energy subject, I can't help but notice the progress that other countries are making, and our country (U.S.) is virtually at a standstill. President Obama took an aggressive stance early on by saying that we be independent of foreign oil in 10-years. While this may have been a very bold move, I happen to think it was a good one. Now if we can just help him to follow up on his boldness.
The rest of the world is speedily racing right past us in an effort to obtain uses of renewable, clean and green energy, and seeing that they do not have to pay the price of what oil will eventually be, which is way to high. With the U.S. Being the largest user of oil, others are seeing to it that they will not be paying for our lack of will to get off oil. Can you imagine who then will be left to pay the high prices as others slowly remove it from their use, us the U.S. Our usage problem, our financial problem. Why is it we cannot make this change to what we all know is not only needed, but right too. Well I'll tell you why...
This country seems to be on the cusp of a Civil War, I only hope that it is a peaceful one. What do I mean? I mean that by electing a Black President, the prejudiced and bigoted people hiding in the background for many years now have found their calling to come out. What does this have to do with renewable energy, it has everything to do with it. The President has just rammed the Healthcare Bill through. I am in favor of the Bill, and I strongly believe he should ram a renewable energy bill through too. Because if he does not he doesn't stand a chance using the traditional channels. Those channels were not meant for him in some peoples eyes. In other words, "we'll put you in charge as a token but, you ain't running or changing this show". You see, Healthcare has the possibility of not working and if it doesn't, it will be labeled as some sort of socialist program. On the other hand renewable energy is something of a supreme value to us all, and were he allowed to pass it through he will have done something great for the country. The republican machine will never award him that victory easily. For if they do, it would in essence say that everyone is equal, and everyone including blacks, women, and Hispanics etc, could do just as good if not, a better job than what's been previously done. It would also set up the inevitable change of the majority-minority situation. This is a scary thought to those who've been in power forever. Maybe it is their own guilty conscience that awards such fears, or maybe it's just the fear of not being in control. Either way, the powers that be would be ever so afraid to their not being in charge for the first time and maybe forever more.
Therefore, if change is to happen it is up to us to change it, the people who want it to change. We must gather and band together with the sole purpose of changing the status quo. The first major step in this change is a Renewable, Clean, Green Energy Bill. We must push it through. Once we do, and the country gets on board, you will see the true realities of such a bill come to light. Yes some will lose and some will gain too but, the gains will far out weigh the losses. Besides the losers have had for a very long time now and it's just time to change the status quo. In the end everything will be just fine. Just don't listen to the politicians against the cause because, they are the coming losers.
The problem we have as a country is that the politics of most all topics have
soiled the true nature of any important discussions. Greed and Bad Politics
have polarized us so that in essence, nothing gets done. Take a look at the
competing countries that have made substantial progress, they are either
government run, or their citizen's representatives have accepted the fact that
they do not have to be "in charge" (too greedy) and therefore, their
respective goals are for the betterment of their country. I once read an
article that showed how Antwerp was once the major financial center of the
world but eventually, and after their 3rd "boom and bust" cycle with
the gap between the haves and have not’s so wide they were eventually
"sacked" by Spain. This forced the country to revamp and now most
everyone in Antwerp lives happily and peacefully. I don't say this in hopes of
the U.S. getting overthrown or suffering economic disaster, heck I live here
and I enjoy my freedoms however, the politics, and the differences between the
haves and have not’s has grown too wide and therefore nobody's listening to
anything anymore, except to what they can get for themselves. So when the
public hears about renewable and clean energy from politicians, or about
climate change, global warming or "live life Green" by
environmentalists and scientists, they automatically turn off the channel. They
do this because a culture has been built on what's in it for me, and the only people
they see gaining anything is, "the haves".
To the point of making renewable, clean, and green energy a reality, the ONLY
way to do so is to have the majority sign on. Think about this for a second...
53% of voting citizens voted for President Obama, and they voted for
"change". I would venture that a large majority of those same people
voted for in the minor and would vote for in the major if pressed hard enough,
renewable, clean, and green energy. I would even go so far as to say that 50%
of the 47% that voted for Sen. McCain would even get on board, so long as there
is a drilling and nuclear option included. This is so easily doable once taken
out of the politician and activists hands. And once the public DEMANDED it, it
would happen sooner rather than later.
As for costs, the only reason it "seems" to cost so much is, there is
no current demand. So while it is true that currently it would be too costly
for the "interested" public to take advantage of, it would not be
true if the public were to include the "whole" public. The only
reason prices go up is "supply and demand" yet, with respect to
renewable energy that feature does not hold up. For the demand side cannot
outpace the supply side therefore, there is no increase in price. Instead and as
the demand picks up, prices will actually become cheaper and cheaper. For
example; if the solar industry's installation companies had to buy and install
for say 100 homes each, they would have to make certain to see their expenses
met and ultimately a net profit would be the goal, thus, they would charge too
hefty a price for the average person. On the other hand, if the companies knew
inevitably and in the near-term they were to install a whole state's worth of
homes, they would be able to charge less because they paid less because the
ordered more, and yet in all, every company involved made plenty more money
than ever before. Which would you rather do; sell services to 100 people for a
cost of $100/person, or sell to 100,000 people for $1 each... I thought so!
The biggest costs associated with going renewable would be the overhaul and
revamping of our infrastructure. This however, would be managed by the
government, and though ultimately taxes would increase, the taxpayers would NOT
feel the adjustments because in essence, their electric and gas bills would in
fact be cheaper than ever before. The only loser's would be in the status quo.
But in reality they too would do alright too, maybe they would take a decrease
from a few hundred billion dollars a year to the mid to high hundreds of
millions per year. I guess they should be alright with that don't you think.
Even so if they're not, so long as that's what the public demanded, they'd have
to learn to manage, I'm sure will.
Maybe it's just me and I'm totally crazy but, this is common sense and it's
something that seems to get lost in the conversations. While I've heard tidbits
of these conversations here and there, ultimately they get drowned out by the
opposition whom by the way, are very adept in their speech abilities. And
please don't let me get started about what happens when China and India enter
into the Oil consumption market to majorly industrialize themselves and become
serious competitors to the U.S....
What we need though is a different voice, before we go the way of Antwerp. Everyone just has to get on board and use some common sense.
I represent a company REepedia ( www.reepedia.com ) that has plans to speak to the public in a different type of voice, one of "common sense". We believe that if the people were spoken to in a language they can understand - "common sense", they will get it and get on board. REepedia has some really good things coming in the very near-term, so I encourage you to pay a visit, register for updates and follow on facebook. The plans to reach the public's ear are stellar and their approach is going to be "apolitical" and one strictly of common sense. The following is a re-post from a post dated April 15th, 2009
All info contained within is a combined compilation of my own experiences, ideas and thoughts, and from my various research outlets. Some info may in fact be verbatim from those outlets.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Just ahead of Tax Day, President Barack Obama is urging Americans to take advantage of tax credits for first-time homebuyers, college students and others. Obama used his weekly radio and Internet address Saturday to promote some of the tax benefits in last year's stimulus bill, saying they could save people hundreds or even thousands of dollars and were available to more than 100 million Americans. Even those who file before the April 15 deadline can amend their returns if there are savings they missed, Obama noted. "No one I've met is looking for a handout. And that's not what these tax cuts are," Obama said. "Instead, they're targeted relief to help middle-class families weather the storm, to jump-start our economy and to bring the fundamentals of the American dream — making an honest living, earning an education, owning a home and raising a family — back within reach for millions of Americans." Credits taxpayers may be eligible for include: —Up to $8,000 for first-time homebuyers. The credit will be available through the end of April. —Up to $2,500 for college expenses. —Up to $1,500 for making energy-efficiency improvements to homes. —For new vehicles purchased between Feb. 17-Dec. 31, 2009, the state and local taxes can be deducted. —An expanded child tax credit providing $1,000 for each child under 17. —The earned income tax credit now provides up to $5,657 to low-income families with at least three children. Many workers have already received, through adjusted withholding in their paychecks, the "Making Work Pay" credit of as much as $800 for couples and $400 for individuals. For those who haven't yet received the full amount due, they will get the additional money when they file. Those who already have the full amount must claim the credit on their return. Due to an IRS glitch, however, some workers will owe money; in some cases, withholding tables gave people more than they should have received. In their weekly address, Republicans accused Obama of raising taxes and expanding government too much with the health care bill and other initiatives. Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., noted that taxes would rise Jan. 1, when President George W. Bush's tax cuts expire. "Since most small businesses pay taxes as individuals, the increase in marginal income tax rates will hit job creators hard," he said. "Republicans believe we need to act now, in a bipartisan way, to head off these tax increases," he said. "That would show job creators and families that it’s safe to invest and save. "So, these are two Republican ideas: first, reining in Washington spending; second, keeping taxes at a manageable level. If we do these two things, private businesses and American families will be able to save, invest and plan for the future," Kyl said. Obama wants to extend Bush's tax cuts, except for individuals making more than $200,000 a year and couples making $250,000. ___ On the Net: Obama address: www.whitehouse.gov GOP address: http://www.youtube.com/user/gopweeklyaddress

Is there Any Intelligent Life out there?
Today down sunny Florida I noticed gasoline prices were closing in from below to $3.00 a gallon. It’s $2.83 for a gallon of Regular.
So here we are climbing out from the most recent financial collapse, and things are apparently getting better, as I for one do believe that things are getting better. This is not to say however, that the opposing forces to “change” will not be trying there hardest to stop the attempt towards “change’s” success. But, does anyone even realize that overall we are only $1.50 or so away from the most recent highs of gasoline.
Forget the Politics and the Climate Change talk for minute instead, let's talk about common sense. This is strictly about the race to the future. The reality is the rest of the World outside the U.S. is racing away from the past and into tomorrow with renewable and clean energy technology sources. And we in the U.S. are "stuck in neutral" and truly losing in this race.
Everyone needs to please stop for a minute and think, we may have gotten better but yet the truth is, we are still only a dollar fifty away from where we were. We could very well be right back nearing recession in 90-180 days unless we start making some real progress forward. So, why not Renewable Energy…? Imagine the jobs created if we took on the large and major project of revamping our infrastructure which by way is the major obstacle holding us back. We need and should do everything there is to move away from the “status quo” and into the new age of tomorrow. This means drilling for our own oil PLUS, aggressively establishing a market for individual consumers in the use of Solar and Wind technology. While it may seem to cost more in the beginning, when you factor in the jobs and additional revenues created, the inevitable savings in consumer and businesses electric bills, it will balance itself out in the long run. Besides, why wouldn't anyone especially the "have not’s" in our society want to establish something that benefits them and changes the “status quo”, and benefits the environment we are to pass along to our children, and in addition, strengthens our country against our competitors, our opponents, and our enemies. The simple truth is no one trusts the politicians and most don't wish to be labeled or thought of as some "environmental greenie". Yet everyone knows that something MUST be done to alleviate gas prices, keep more money here at home, create new jobs, reduce electrics costs, provide a good environment for our offspring, and strengthen our country for tomorrow’s way of life. If we do not and instead continue the bickering over the things that really are beside’s the point, we will go the way of a previous great Roman society, only in a much quicker time span. The Romans ruled supreme for almost 800 years and we only 235 years in are starting to fold already to the rest of the world in technological advancements. If we lose this race, our children and children's children will not see the strengths that we ourselves have so enjoyed. We will be taken over, not literally, but politically by those that ran harder towards technology in an attempt to strengthen their economies and independence. The truly unfortunate part is that some of these advancements coming from renewable and the clean energy technologies will so greatly advance the strengths of not only our competitors, but maybe even our enemies. This is a frightening thought.
So I implore us, let's stop the bickering and do what intelligent people would do and to a big extent, doing already. Make the major moves necessary NOW to reduce our use of Foreign Oil and Oil in general. Create jobs by committing to the construction of Solar and Wind, Hydro, Geothermal, Biofuels, BioMass, and Nuclear projects today. The ability to do so is already here. Now the Country by the will of its people just needs to demand and accept its inevitable happening. This is what an intelligent life would do, if any were willing to use their Common Sense, instead of their Political and or Environmental sense.
